Blog Thoughts Afire! 05-13-2005 It has been about six months since my last blog entry! My illnesses, and the prescribed medications supposed to ease them, have held me in a less than optimum frame of mind. The Democrats are up to their usual--these days--obstructionist tactics. They don't want to deal with the Social Security problem that looms on the horizon. They don't want to pass the President's judicial nominees forward for an up-or-down vote. In the meantime, liberal forces press ahead with their plans to thwart conservative voters in the 2006 elections. Also, on the education front, the "No Child Left Behind" Act is under constant attack because of its calls for student and teacher accountability. At the same time, any attempt to show our young students that evolution is only a theory (that's all that it ever was) meets with liberal outrage. We need to keep the pressure on the liberals to get out of the way, and keep the grassroots motivation going for conservatives. |

Now that the dust from the 2000 Presidential election has settled, we need to lobby for: (1) Election day should a national holiday to allow an equal chance for all voters to go to the polls, not just union members, welfare recipients, and retirees. (2) All polls must be closed in the entire United States before news people can start projecting winners. (3) News stations, newspapers, and magazines must state their party affiliation or leaning. Opinions must be identified as such and not passed off as "news". (4) In close elections, there must be a
four-member canvassing board to review hand counts. They should consist of two
representatives of each party whose candidate stands to win or lose on the strength of the
recount. A minimum of three people must decide for whom the ballot was cast, else it is
rejected as a non-vote.
