Thoughts Afire!

08-18-2004

I've been off the blog for a long while, due to ill health, many doctor visits, and trips for testing of different sorts.

It has been an interesting few weeks. Democrats, funded by the likes of billionaire George Soros, as well as rich elitists such as writer/filmmaker Michael Moore, as well as several singers and actors, have unleashed unrelenting negative attacks on the President.

When the Swift Boat Veterans For Truth released their negative book and ad, "Unfit For Command", the liberals let out an anguished, collective howl. How dare these people question the heroism of John F. Kerry?!?  Well, for starters, Mr. Kerry made his Viet Nam service the theme of his election campaign. That immediately opened his military record to intense scrutiny. Speaking of military records, Mr. Kerry has refused to release all of his--something to do with inconsistencies and descriptions of his Purple Heart wounds.

Of further interest is that Mr. Kerry refuses to campaign on his Senate record. That is because it proves him the Senate's most liberal member, and he is trying to make America believe that he is moderate--or even conservative.

Mr. Kerry, seeing that he is suffering from the close inspection of his military history, has taken two more important steps that should be his undoing. One is to campaign to veterans groups such as the VFW and American Legion, two entities that he condemned in the 1970s. This should reopen the period of time when he was chief spokesman for The Vietnam Veterans Against The War. That should be intriguing. That was the period of his history in which he accused all American soldiers of atrocities in Vietnam, didn't see anything particularly wrong with communism, and pretended to throw away his medals.

He is also touting his membership on the Senate Intelligence Committee, as proof that he is fit to lead the country. However, records show that his was not in attendance at 76% of those meetings. Such lackluster performance tarnishes his claim of expertise on intelligence.

Mr. Kerry continues to lie (others call it flip-flopping) in order to win the presidential election. He has plenty of help from his Democrat surrogates. Pray to God he doesn't win!

Read the Republican Contract With America that liberals still refer to contemptuously, and see what you think (notice that Bill Clinton took credit for much of what it undertook).

Now that the dust from the 2000 Presidential election has settled, we need to lobby for:

(1) Election day should a national holiday to allow an equal chance for all voters to go to the polls, not just union members, welfare recipients, and retirees.

(2) All polls must be closed in the entire United States before news people can start projecting winners.

(3) News stations, newspapers, and magazines must state their party affiliation or leaning. Opinions must be identified as such and not passed off as "news".

(4) In close elections, there must be a four-member canvassing board to review hand counts. They should consist of two representatives of each party whose candidate stands to win or lose on the strength of the recount. A minimum of three people must decide for whom the ballot was cast, else it is rejected as a non-vote.
