Blog Thoughts Afire! 03-31-2004 I haven't blogged for a few days due to a death in my wife's family. Which leads me to again regard the brevity of life. We all need to be active in righteous causes while we have time, energy, and resources. We must prepare the next generation to stand firm upon that which is good and right in the face of attacks from atheists, socialists, militant Muslims, or from wherever the onslaught may come. Train the youth of the country to be upright, honest, hard-working, compassionate, and God-fearing. The clock is ticking for all of us... Back to the political front: I kept waiting for Kerry and the Democrats to blame Bush for high gasoline prices. I didn't have long to wait. Never mind that OPEC controls the market, and has recently announced a second round of output reductions to drive the prices up. Our friends, the Saudis, are at the forefront of this price increase. Kerry wants Bush to stop filling the national oil reserve, and perhaps release some of the reserve stockpiles, to see if that will help lower prices. Experts say that such an action would have negligible impact on pricing. President Bush says we need to be stocked in cause of an oil disruption--a very real possibility with all the animosity in oil-producing countries. In the meantime, Kerry calls for "alternative energy". Wouldn't we all like that, including the President? Don't you think that there are folks out there hoping to get rich, working furiously to develop alternatives? A more efficient and economical alternative is yet to be found. Kerry's talk reflects his out-of-touch, pie-in-the-sky approach to governance. The FCC under President Bush is attacking the indecency that floods the airwaves. This is another reason that President Bush needs another four years in the White house. Under eight years of Clinton, things went from racy to raunchy. As a party, Democrats just don't care about families and their moral values. 03-27-2004 Democrats Schumer and Daschle were upset yesterday over the likelihood that President Bush will appoint more federal judges as recess appointments. He has done this twice with nominees that the Democrat senators will not let come to a floor vote. The Democrats are accusing President Bush of violating the "advise and consent" clause of the Constitution for the appoint of these judges. Truthfully, this is more of the Democrats "projecting" of their own faults onto their political opponents. The Democrats on the Senate judiciary committee have been refusing to let conservative nominees go to the full Senate floor for an up or down vote. These committee members are refusing to honor the constitutional system by holding it hostage to their partisan demands. They are scared to death of a Supreme Court that might overturn Roe v. Wade on the "abortion rights" issue. (That would be the right of a mother to murder her unborn child in the womb.) If Daschle and friends will let the full Senate vote on the nominees, the issue will be resolved. Don't want a particular judge? Vote him or her down on the Senate floor. The truth is that they are afraid that a majority will approve of such conservative judges. So who is abusing the advise and consent privilege? That would be the Senate Democrats, not the President! 03-26-2004 Conservatives on campus are raising their voices against the tyranny of the liberal elites who dominate the halls of education. Too often the liberal teachers attempt to mold the classes into the liberal image. Instead of teaching facts, and letting the students learn, they preach socialism and liberal ideology. When conservatives speak up, they are often ridiculed, intimidated, and given lower grades. So much for the freedom of speech often touted by these same elites. Apparently, freedom of speech is only for those of the socialist, liberal persuasion. Thankfully, some conservatives are demanding the right to be heard, and not be intimidated or punished for their views. If enough of us will stand up for our core values, we can make a difference. The more that we speak, the greater the likelihood that some students will listen, and not be swayed by the pressures from liberal professors and teachers. 03-25-2004 The new Hamas terrorist group leader, Abdel Aziz Rantissi, who replaces the Hamas founder who was killed by Israeli missles, vows to keep killing Israelis. Can't these people get a clue? Every time Israel retaliates for one of the Palestinian terrorist atrocities, the Palestinian (Muslim) terrorists cry to the world that if the Israelis don't stop, the violence will never end. Let me run this past Rantissi, and his terrorist cohorts--what if they stop killing Israelis? Can't they figure that there is a good chance that there will be no retaliation if there are no attacks--therefore, the violence will stop? No terrorist attacks, no retaliation. "Cycle of violence" cured! It doesn't take a genius to figure that one out--so what gives? That tells the world that the Palestinians don't want peace with Israel--they want Israel gone. "Pushed into the sea", as Hamas leaders describe their goal. We don't like to talk about it because it is not Politically Correct, but militant Muslims all around the world want every non-Muslim "pushed into the sea"--or their throat cut, or their head chopped off! That's me and you, baby! On the home front, baby-killers are outraged over a new bill that would make it a crime to kill a baby (they call it a "fetus") in the womb of a mother who wants the child. They say that it is setting the stage to overturn Roe v. Wade-- I certainly hope so. While killing babies may be acceptable to abortionists, it doesn't sit well with prospective parents who are looking forward to the birth of their offspring. As for the word "fetus", which abortionists (baby-killers) call a "blob of tissue", the Latin-to-English dictionaries that I have consulted render the word to mean "pregnant; filled with young". In the case of a human, I would ask, "A young what?" And the true answer is, "a young human being". That is, a human baby. Not a blob of tissue--a human baby. I wish that every time that an abortionist speaks about choice that they would go ahead and complete the statement: "I believe in a woman's right to choose to kill her unborn child within her womb." Instead they say, "I believe in a woman's right to choose...", and recently have begun shortening it further to "I believe in woman's choice", or further changing it to "I believe in health choices for women.", or merely stating, "I believe in a woman's rights." 03-24-2004 The Kobe Bryant case is still big news. Why? His accuser is being forced to testify. Rape victims' advocates are up in arms. But I have a question: What about the Confrontation Clause of the Sixth Amendment? What if the accuser is a false accuser? This is such an age-old problem, that the Ten Commandments even deal with it: "Thou shalt not bear false witness". A person's past behavior often is relevant to a case, and in this case, the young woman was quite promiscous, as was Bryant, evidently. Halfway into the consensual sex act, if a woman tells the man to stop, it suddenly becomes "rape". Evidently, those who write such laws don't quite grasp the degree to which one can become involved in the act of sex. The bigger problem is that our society encourages fornication and adultery. Were people not so promiscuous, rape situations would be less frequent, and more easily recognized as rape. Richard Clarke continues his tirade against President Bush and his administration in testimony before the 9-11 Commissison today. See my blog of the 22nd for a list of terrorist activity under Clinton and Clarke. Why has Clarke had nothing bad to say about Clinton's reticence and ineptitude? Also, read my commentary here. 03-23-2004 Palestinians are vowing to kill not only Israelis, but also Americans, because of the killing of Hamas' founder by Israeli missles. This is interesting, that thse so-called "freedom-fighters" are openly revelaing themselves as the terrorists that they are. After all, their leader, Arafat, has always been a terrorist, ecouraged the present terrorist "uprising" that has gone on for several years, and does nothing to stop the terror groups from operating within Gaza and the West Bank. Remember the celebratory gunfire and flag-waving in Palestinian streets on 9-11-2001, when they learned that thousands of Americans and foreigners had died in the WTC attacks? The scenes were quickly pulled from the news broadcasts, but we remember. These people are born and reared to be terrorists. Meantime, it appears that the foreign leaders standing up for Kerry are being revealed, one at a time. Kim Jong Il of North Korea is a big fan of John Kerry. So is the newly elected socialist Prime Minister of Spain, Jose Luis Zapatero. I wonder who Osama bin Laden would like to see win? 03-22-2004 Clinton employee Richard Clarke has written a book. He says that the Clinton administration heartily warned the incoming Bush administration that Al Qaeda must be dealt with immediately, but that the President chose to shirk his duty, and ignore the somber warnings. Let's see if we can review the record. Under President Clinton (not Bush!), and under Mr. Clarke's oversight for 5 of those years, compiled with help from a list by FrontPageMag: 1993: Bombed the
World Trade Center, killing 6, injuring 1000+ "Passion Of The Christ" was the number two movie this past weekend. The critics are laughing about how the "Jesus movie" got rooted out by the "Dawn of the dead" remake. Look at the overall numbers. Passion of the Christ is not finished yet! I find it offensive that they gloat over the slide in the numbers. 03-21-2004 Democrats have revealed their new line of attack against the President. He is a liar, he is misleading, he distorts the truth, he flip-flops on the issues. That is what Ted Kennedy and all the Democrat front-men are saying on the TV talk-shows. These headlines are also showing up in left-leaning newspapers. When you ascribe to others your own shortcomings and failures, that is known as "projection"--and boy, are the Democrats projecting! Meantime, Senator Kerry says that he both voted for and against the bill to fund the US military in Iraq. The last time I checked, you were not allowed to vote both "yes" and "no" on the same issue. You had to choose one or the other. But listen to Kerry, and he will convince you that he did both. The king of flip-flops wants it both ways, so that he can try to curry favor with both sides of the issue. I am also hearing Kerry say that he will be a great Commander-In-Chief, because he served in Viet Nam. What about the anti-war years after he left Viet Nam? Will those make him a great military leader? 03-20-2004 Kerry fell down. On the ski slopes, where he was showing off his fitness and youthful energy, Kerry fell down. Had this been a Republican candidate, or the President himself, this would have been front page news and the talk of all the TV talk-shows. Reports are that he cussed at a secret service agent, and blamed him for the mishap. We want this cusser and blamer as our President? I don't think so! 03-19-2004 A tired Kerry is on vacation this week. Aides say that he is so exhausted that he his making too many mistakes. I wonder how a tired President Kerry would do? Would he also make "too many mistakes"? That's a scary thought! Children are being arrested bringing guns, bombs, and knives to school. The public school ground is a breeding ground for domestic terrorists. Let your elected officials, as well as your school boards, know how you feel about this. Major changes are needed before it's too late. The FCC is clamping down on foul language, particularly the "F" word. It's about time. The liberals in this country, citing "free speech", have subjected the godly and the innocent to all manner of foul language and sex talk. Not to mention bodily exposure. I seriously doubt that the founding fathers of this nation would have tolerated public exposure! What do you think? 03-18-2004 Hotel bombed in Basra. What gives? Hoping that Iraqi citizens will get fed up with civilian deaths, and demand that the US leave? The other day they killed aid workers trying to distribute food and clean water systems. A not so subtle message for foreigners to get out! 03-17-2004 Dean supports Kerry & his European socialist friends. What a surprise! Terrorists bomb a hotel in Baghdad, killing mostly Arabs, and probably Muslims. 03-16-2004 President Bush is finally calling some attention to Kerry's flip-flops, his appeasement attittude toward terrorists, and his anti-defense stance. It's about time. For months we wallowed in the muck of all the Democrat candidates raining their venom and bold attacks on the President with nary a peep out of him. It was sickening. Instead of debating the issues with one another, the Democrats spent their air time undermining the President and his administration. All that came out of their months of campaigning is that none of them like President Bush. What an agenda on which to run! "Elect me, I don't like Bush!" What a platform! Spain's newly elected socialist prime minister is rooting for Kerry, and is declaring the war on terrorism over--and we lost. Sounding much like the French, he has already surrendered in the war on terrorism. The head of the European Union is making the same noises. We lost the war on terrorism--now we must negotiate with the terrorists. Excuse me! Bin Laden declared war on the USA, Christians, and the Western world. He will not be satisfied until Islam rules the world. He has said this. The European socialists have just admitted defeat. Are we all ready to become Muslims? If you don't believe it, read this "fatwa": Osama bin Laden's declaration of war on America and her allies, both civilian and military populations. 03-15-2004 Socialists took control of the government in Spain. What a shame. The new socialist Prime Minister condemns the war in Iraq, and vows to pull Spanish soldiers out. The socialists blame their country's involvement in Iraq for the 10 bombings there on March 11. It doesn't matter if the Spaniards are in Iraq. Bin Laden promised war against Christians, and Westerners, worldwide. The leftist, socialist types still seem to not have gotten the picture. It is not about decisions that Christians and democracies make. It is about establishing world rule by Islam. That is their plainly stated goal. The Democrats are still maliciously smearing the President, saying that the economy is a shambles. Meanwhile, manufacturing is up, jobs are increasing, unemployment is falling, the average family's wealth is growing, and the stock market is climbing. What do the Democrats want to do about this good news? Increase taxes! Right! That should really boost the economy. Take away the people's money so that they cannot buy, invest, or create jobs. That should work out just about right. But, then, socialism is not about people controlling their own personal wealth, is it? By the way, Kerry's good socialist friends, the leaders of France and Spain, want him in the White House. Those socialists have to stick together, don't they? 03-14-2004 Two homicide bombers killed 10 people in Israel today. Arafat's terror wing is accepting co-responsibility for the terrorism. Hamas and the al-Aksa Martyrs Brigade both claimed involvement. These Muslim terrorists hope to terrorize Israel into submission. In they meantime, they wish to "negotiate". If the UN, or any responsible government, or other such body, would do the right thing, they would send armed forces into "Palestine" to stop the violent murder of civilians, after which they would insist on negotiations and a final settlement. Any violence after such a settlement should be promptly stopped by reinserting multinational forces into this new "Palestinian" state. Can't the world put a stop to this blatant, Arafat-sanctioned terror? 03-13-2004 Spain is still sifting through the aftermath of the 10 train bombings that killed about 199 and injured over 1,000 people. Was it an internal terrorist group, the Basque separatist group known as ETA? Or is it the work of Islamic terrorists? Or, a alliance of the two? Spaniards are outraged, some blaming the conservative leadership for supporting the war in Iraq, while others were raging more against the terrorists. 03-12-2004 Following up my comments of yesterday, I just read where Kerry's antiwar group discussed assassinating senators who were pro-war. This is typical "antiwar" and Democrat socialist hypocrisy. "War is wrong because it kills; therefore, I will kill those who make war!" So a new war--often called revolution--is born, one that usually kills more than the war supposedly being protested by the "revolution". Socialists denounce government corruption, and then after a bloody, murderous revolution, they install a still more corrupt and oppressive government than the one that they replaced. Kerry and the liberal, socialist Democrats are scary. To the Democrats, laws are made to be broken, as in the case of homosexual "marriages". And what about the traitor, Susan Lindauer, a spy for Iraq who describes herself as an "antiwar activist"? She worked for several very liberal senators and representatives, as well as for liberal media outlets. Am I the only one that sees a pattern here? In another interesting tidbit, Kerry is already getting his legal team in place to challenge Republican votes in Florida in November! How can you challenge votes that haven't even been cast yet? How can you question the legality of something that has not even taken place? In other words, Kerry is going to pull a Gore on the country by illegitmately challenging GOP votes as soon as the election is over! How crazy, but typical of Democrats, is that? That's what Gore did in 2000. 03-11-2004 If you can get past the Democrats shrill lambastings and insane shrieking long enough to hear what they are actually saying, a compelling pattern emerges. The leaders of the Democrat party are criminals. An article on Fox News contains an interesting excerpt: "A study by the Internet group TalkLeft -- which tracks crime-related political news -- claims that if felons were able to vote, 70 percent of them would vote Democratic." That suggests to me that 70 percent of convicted felons are Democrats! No wonder the Democrats are soft on crime and criminals! The Democrats are also the party that sees no problem with illegal immigrants, wanting them to have the same benefits and status as citizens, including the right to vote. After all, aren't they already living and working here? Never mind that their illegal presence is a criminal act. This is the same party that wants to legalize "recreational" drug use. This is the party that legalized murdering innocent infants in the womb. This is the party that wants to legalize homosexual "marriage". This is the party that pushed for, and obtained, "no fault" divorce. This is the same party that has convinced our black citizens that they are nothing more than victims of our society, rather than assisting them into becoming an integrated part of this great country. The Democrats, since the 1960s, have effectively destroyed normal life in America. They tout themselves as the "party of the people", the "party of the working man". By creating a welfare state, and heavily taxing the working people to pay for it, these socialists have created a two-class system in our country. All they offer is socialism, and a system of haves and have-nots. Strange that they keep chanting slogans about "capitalist" Republicans causing class warfare in America. Class warfare is a classic tool of socialists and communists around the world. Strange that these Democrats, who constantly decry the "two class system" in America, are those who reside in the upper class that they are helping to create. By taking from the economic middle class and giving to the lower class, they destroy the middle class. All that is left is their upper class, and everybody else. Socialism, communism--in America. Brought to you courtesy of the Democrat party. 03-10-2004 Democrats say whatever they think that their listeners want to hear. They call this "situational ethics". Some call it flip-flopping. I call it lying and deception. Kerry is a prime example of this, as was Bill Clinton. Remember how hard the Democrats and the teachers' unions like the NEA fought against the "No Child Left behind Act"? Now, they are suing because they say that President Bush hasn't fully funded it as he promised. What's that all about?!? Never mind that this is not true. The teachers unions scream for more and more money so that they can keep increasing their salaries and benefits. Meanwhile, public education is in a shambles. Our children aren't learning the basics, and the schools are devoting their precious time to teaching them how to be homosexuals, have promiscuous sex, and achieve abortions without their parents' consent. (Oh, yes, and throwing in a little Christian-bashing and anti-Americanism along the way!) The teachers also resist vouchers and other such programs that would provide a wider range of educational opportunities. They try to stifle every charter school that is proposed. They hate homeschooling. Their complaint? These alternatives "drain money from public education"! Duh! What they mean is, we won't get the big raises and additional benefits that we were seeking. They don't care about the children--they hide behind them, using them as shields to deflect criticism. I'd like to see homeschooling taxpayers get an equal amount of money per child that they homeschool that the public schools get for each pupil they have enrolled. Environmentalists in Georgia complain about money that they receive from the sale of patriotic flag license plates. It seems that they somehow view the American flag as the personal standard of George W. Bush, and no one else. Aren't they also Americans? Aren't we? I thought it was this country's flag, the flag of its citizens? The flag of the United States of America! George W. Bush has been President for less than 4 years, and during that time the flag has become his personal emblem? I don't get it, do you?!? Meantime, Kerry is bragging that the socialist Europeans, like the French, are wanting him to be our next President. That's something to brag about? They want someone in the White House who will put their interests above the interests of Americans. Kerry's their man! After months of Democrat presidential candidacies that consisted of concerted and united bashing and trashing of President Bush, rather than taking on their partisan opponents, the Democrats are complaining that the President has started his campaign too early! 03-09-2004 Still more cities are issuing homosexual "marriage" licenses in violation of their own state laws. Democrats continue to applaud this illegal activity, calling it a civil rights issue. As one homosexual whined in this Fix News article , "I've had friends who were beaten for no other reason than they were gay. For us to deny anyone the right to marry is wrong." Some intolerant extremist beats up a homosexual, so they have the right to "marry"?!? I'm missing the connection between the two. Typical of left-wing tactics. The Democrats feel free to violate any law that they don't like. This includes their liberal justices in the court system. If a liberal judge doesn't like a law, he just throws it out as unconstitutional, or reinterprets the constitution to suit liberal interests. Now we have city mayors declaring state law unconstitutional. Next, the local dog-catcher will no doubt begin doing the same thing. Why not? Meanwhile, Kerry hammers the President on his "pre-9-11 failures". What about all of Bill Clinton's Pre-9-11 failures? See the 03-05-2004 blog entry above! It's sad that Kerry has no platform on which to run, other than bashing President Bush. 03-08-2004 Liberal, disgusting radio and television "jockey" Howard Stern is lamenting that religious people in America are getting the upper hand. The liberals have run--and ruined--this country over the past 40 years through their control of the congress, and the liberal activist judges who "legislate" from the bench. It would be a blessed relief if the country could be overseen by those who care about our children, and the future of our country. Meanwhile, socialist Democrat Kerry is still trying to define his candidacy, but is still merely coming across as anti-Bush, a move meant to energize and mobilize the party base. He now accuses the President of failing to provide body armor in Iraq. Strangely, Kerry opposed the military budget that Bush had proposed. To read about Kerry's many flip-flops on the issues, read the several links listed in this article: http://www.newsmax.com/archives/articles/2004/3/5/210437.shtml Kerry tells each particular group what they hope to hear. But where does he stand on the issues? Is he for the defense of America from her avowed enemies? Is he against homosexual "marriages"? Is he against illegal immigration? Is he for the right to bear arms? Is he for Christians having a public voice? Is for the right of the innocent unborn to live, and not be murdered in the womb? Is he against terrorism? Will he fight terrorism? C'mon, Kerry, stop bashing President Bush, and tell us where you really stand on the important issues! 03-07-2004 President Vincente Fox of Mexico visited our President Bush over the weekend. El Presidente had postponed his visit when Texas executed a murderous Mexican national. Yet, Mr. Fox wants us to welcome more of his citizens, with open arms! He doesn't want them to become Americans, mind you! He just wants them to come to America to work, draw welfare benefits, get a free education, and free health care. One might ask what Mr. Fox and his associates are doing to foster job growth and the attendant benefits in Mexico? It is a big country with some rich resources. It has some great tourist attractions. Mr. Fox should concentrate on supplying his citizens with what they need at home, so that they are not lured to America. I love our President, George W. Bush. I know that he is trying to capture more of the "latino" vote by pandering to illegal immigrants. The socialist liberal Democrats want to give them all immediate and unconditional citizenship--so that they will gratefully vote the Democrat ticket. President Bush is trying to steal from their playbook. There are "latino" racist groups who wish to reclaim the West and Southwest of America for Mexico. One such group is MEChA, which issued a document calling for cession of Aztlan, the mythical birthplace of the Aztecs, an area that includes California, Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, as well as parts of Colorado and Texas. To justify illegal immigration, some liberals cite the poem from the statue of liberty:
The idea is to come to America legally, and become part of this great country. It was never the intention to allow illegal immigration, especially by groups wanting to steal away part of the country! 03-06-2004 Other family members using the computer or telephone kept me from blogging Saturday and Sunday. But my brain did not shut down during that time! Saturday saw all the pundits and analysts shrieking and harping about Martha Stewart's conviction. Several liberals called it a witch hunt, blaming the Bush administration for going after the liberal Ms. Stewart. But I ask--what if this had been you or me? We would be behind bars for a long time! Justice is supposed to be equal--that's what justice is. Ms. Stewart should not get a free pass because of her fame, and her elite political connections. If the law is interpreted to benefit the rich and punish the poor, there is no justice. Socialist liberals are trying hard to bring down the rule of law in this country. They prefer to interpret the law in a way that benefits them, but destroys their opponents. How sad for America! 03-05-2004 Democrat Kerry blasts the President for using images of 9-11 in his campaign ads. Bury this national tragedy, pretend that we are not under attack by terrorists, "It's the economy, stupid". Kerry is following the Bill Clinton playbook. Clinton swept terrorism under the rug, and nobody seems to want to revisit that fact. Remember the 1993 World Trade Centre bombing, which killed six and injured 1,000, under Clinton's watch? He treated it as a crime, not a terrorist attack. What about the Khobar Towers attack, the August 7, 1998, bombing of U.S. embassies in Kenya and Tanzania, the October 12, 2000, attack on the USS Cole, and the failed plot to bomb Los Angeles International Airport in December 1999, when a terrorist was arrested at the Canadian border? Folks, our country is under attack. President Bush has done an excellent job in the war on terrorism. His use of the 9-11 images are entirely appropriate! As for Kerry, he is using Viet Nam War images in his campaigns. One is wrong, and the other is right? I don't think so! Anyway, Kerry came out of the war in an anti-war mood. He has since voted repeatedly to strip this country of its defenses. We want this man as our Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces? I don't think so!
03-04-2004 After releasing several mild campaign advertisements, the Prez turned up the heat on Democrat Kerry in a speech in California today. He said that Kerry's two decades in congress gave him a chance to come down on both sides of all the issues. He's right. So far Kerry has pandered to whichever side of the issue he was campaigning among at the time. He offers no vision for America's, or the world's, future. The Democrat strategy has been, and continues to be, "Criticize President Bush". Lord help us if this nation votes in a man that offers a single-minded vision of ousting his political opponent. What about the rest of us? What about our children, and our grandchildren? The homosexuals are daily defying the law by administering "homosexual marriage", in violation of state and local laws. So far, they are getting away with it. Lack of the rule of law leads to anarchy. Civil disobedience, if unchecked, leads to a complete breakdown of law and order. When will someone put a stop to this anarchy? Looks like we are going to need a Constitutional "Marriage Amendment"! Massachusetts teacher of the year, Jeffrey R. Ryan, says he won't accept the award from Education Secretary Rod Paige, who likened the NEA to terrorists, because of their obstruction to our children's education. The public education system, under the influence of the NEA, is working systematically to destroy family life in America by telling students that homosexuality and abortion are normal. Many high school and college students can neither read nor write well enough to pass their courses. Mr. Ryan showed his true colors when he revealed that his main beef was the President's "No Child Left Behind" act. It seems that this teacher objects to quantifying the performance of students and faculty through evaluations. If the teachers, and their unions, would concentrate on educating children to read, write, and do math, instead of promoting socialism, our country would not be as bad off as it presently is. 03-03-2004 I provide the newslinks, but I also have things to say. I don't have time to write the long commentaries that I would like to write. So I decided to "blog" (Weblog). All the good names were taken, and I didn't just want to call it "My Blog", or some such. So here is "Thoughts Afire!" I think a lot. About God, and heaven, and life, and death, and family, and sickness. I think about work, and this one-time great country, about our excellent President George W. Bush, and the mean-spirited opposition party of the lefty liberals that call themselves "Democrats". I take exception to that title, Democrat. The word, democracy, comes from the Greek dEmokratia, meaning "people rule", and speaks of government by the general populace. Democrats are quite the opposite. They dictate to the people what they think is best for the people. They want control of incomes so that they may redistribute those incomes as they see fit. This is known as socialism, and is akin, and often leads to, communism. I think that the party should change its name from Democrat to Socialist, or Communists. Then people would better understand their goals and methods. |

Now that the dust from the 2000 Presidential election has settled, we need to lobby for: (1) Election day should a national holiday to allow an equal chance for all voters to go to the polls, not just union members, welfare recipients, and retirees. (2) All polls must be closed in the entire United States before news people can start projecting winners. (3) News stations, newspapers, and magazines must state their party affiliation or leaning. Opinions must be identified as such and not passed off as "news". (4) In close elections, there must be a
four-member canvassing board to review hand counts. They should consist of two
representatives of each party whose candidate stands to win or lose on the strength of the
recount. A minimum of three people must decide for whom the ballot was cast, else it is
rejected as a non-vote.
